As your child practices sight words, he/she should be able to quickly recognize and read each word (within 3 seconds).

Your child should continue to have access to Smarty Ants and RazKids during the summer break. Your child's access to Epic ends on June 30. You can access those websites by going to the "Enrichment" page.
Some reading skills to practice: - Ask and answer questions using who, what, when, where, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a story or text. - Identify the main topic of a story - Know and use various text features (such as captions, bold print, table of contents, or glossaries) to locate key facts or information in a text |

When your chid is writing, he/she should be writing neatly and in complete sentences. Sentences should start with an uppercase letter and end with correct punctuation. Encourage your child to spell words on his/her own using letter-sound correspondence.

Your child should continue to have access to Prodigy during the summer break. You can access the website by going to the "Enrichments" page. If you picked up your child's GoMath books, you can also work on any pages that were not completed.
Some math skills to practice: - Skip count by 2's, 5's, and 10's - Identify and write numbers to 100 - Practice double-digit addition and subtraction - Practice telling time to the hour and half hour on an analog clock - Practice place value of two or three-digit numbers (example: 125 is the same as 1 hundred, 2 tens, 5 ones) |
